Gates for me. Comes as a kit and good quality. Was pretty reasonably priced too.

I used OEM parts as have a nice discount at fords, but if using a decent well known brand such as gates, SKF, continental chances are you get exactly the same parts without ford written on them so no worries there
done a how to on timing belt here : http://www.mk1focusrsoc.com/forum/te...54-timing-belt
      might be of help

I know, Clayton has all pics to insert them into the thread but am sure he has loads of other stuff to do. Pics which can be seen are already put there by Clay

Next Saturday I will be spending some time with our IT man doing some work on the forum and build list website. Need to do some changes, alterations and updates. Will also be looking at fixing the links to the images I uploaded recently so they can be seen.

The pulleys themselves dont matter mate they can move so long as you lock the crank and the cams themselves at the other end before you undo anything. If that makes sense?

back of the block underneath the oil filter? a bolt you undo? And then insert the pin/bolt that comes with timing tool kit.

There is a continental kit for £55 quid on ebay from Germany free postage ( my last forged engine had one of these)

This is the one thing i haven't learnt to do as i am worried when i turn that key ..............

I know cowboys who used screwdrivers for this and TDC so hence why i do not use mechanics no more unless its for upgrades, setup or mapping!
