New Member build #0000 Pre Production Car.

Hi Guys I've recently acquired one of (possibly the only one left) early 2002 pre-production cars #0000 here in NZ, we've had it verified by several organizations inc Ford NZ and have now got the build sheet and dates Etc. Will be doing a very sympathetic restoration only touching what we need to to ensure its history and a full health check on all the essential service items. It sits next to my Mk2 Performance Blue RS and Mk3 RS Limited to complete the set. Will try answer as many questions as I can and will upload pics also!

Hi Dave and welcome the the forum.

Nice to see the new owner here of pre-production 0000. I was actually in contact with the previous owner to confirm this car is a genuine pre-production.

You have a very special car there and good to hear you will be doing very little restoration work, keep this car as original as possible.

Search the build number 0000 on this forum to find previous threads/posts. Some images you may not be able to see with not being a full subscribed member as some images have been uploaded where they are only visible to full members.

I do have the build date listed on the build list database. I don’t have the first registration date. You don’t happen to have any paperwork from the UK do you to state a date 0000 was first ever registered for the road do you please? Not sure if it was ever allocated a UK licence plate?

Hi Clayton is was first registered in Tokyo Japan in June 2004 we believe it was taken straight from Germany to Japan mid 2002 and only registered 2yrs later i presume when everyone had forgotten about it!! were still working on exact details Etc.
